50 years ago, the School of Clinical Medicine welcomed its first cohort.

Since then, generations of students have used their experience at the School to transform healthcare and patients’ lives: restoring sight, transforming care for people with motor neurone disease, championing the wellbeing of healthcare professionals, and shaping public health education on an international stage.

The next 50 years will undoubtedly bring new discoveries and new challenges. But the foundations will remain the same: a community that nurtures talent, encourages curiosity, and gives people the confidence to turn ideas into action.
