Queens'
Whilst we may be living in an increasingly turbulent world, my time at Cambridge has been characterised by a sense of community. I have met people here who will be friends for life and have had countless wonderful experiences at Queens’ and as part of the University in general.
During my academic studies, I have had many interesting and brilliant professors, steering me through a course that covers everything from fifth-century Athenian drama to medieval manuscripts, from the early modern period and the Renaissance to the present day.
Outside of academics, I can definitively say that I have had the classic “Cambridge experience”: May Balls, formals, College sport, and celebrating with friends after exams. I always looked forward to a Christmas-themed formal in our Old Hall, playing a rugby match for Queens’ on the weekends, or relaxing on Erasmus lawn in the summer evenings.
Queens’ also has brilliant music and theatre societies, and so I have
been lucky enough to see some of my extremely talented peers perform in QBar with MagSoc, or in the Fitzpatrick Theatre with BATS Productions.
In terms of the wider University, we all have had a great time supporting Cambridge sport, particularly at various Varsity matches, including a memorable one for me personally watching Cambridge Men's Rugby beat Oxford for the third time in a row at the StoneX Stadium in London.
Often, though, the best and most memorable times will be of my friends and me sitting down for Buttery dinner together, or hosting a board games night, or on a pub trip for a birthday. This is a very special University filled with amazing people, and I feel incredibly lucky to have spent the last three years here.
