Jesus

As we matriculated, our Senior Tutor told us: once a Jesuan, always a Jesuan. It's a phrase that means a great deal more now, as we prepare to leave, than it did then. We descended on College and within hours found ourselves at a bop dressed as the first letter of our name. Freshers’ Week passed in a blur of talks, a matriculation formal, and more new faces than anyone could keep track of. And then it all began – the studying, the socialising, and the slow process of figuring out how to do both. Along the way, memorable moments brought the year together. Marriage Formal formalised the proposals that had littered our year group chat for months. Halfway Hall saw us evacuated before dessert, and the Master’s Drinks Reception gave us a chance to hear piano, harp and spoken verse from some of our incredibly talented peers.

Each March the half-marathon drew us out to cheer (or run)! Even

the northern lights made a couple of appearances as we spilled outside, phones out, trying to capture the sky.

The hours blurred into days and the days into weeks – JCMS concerts in the chapel; Winter Wonderland a reliable fixture each Bridgemas; trips to Jacks whether winter or summer; late nights out at Kiki's, Mash, Revs and La Razza; and equally late nights in chatting endlessly with friends. Hours spent in the Roost, where you could always count on bumping into someone for a natter. The Porters, who somehow knew everyone and were always there when you needed them. And then there was Jeer, who roamed the grounds until he was relocated earlier this year. We hope he's okay.

And before we knew it, our time at Jesus had come to an end. United by our shared experiences, and by the College, we will always be Jesuans wherever our paths may lead next.
