Fitzwilliam
The years spent at Fitzwilliam go by in a blur of supervision deadlines, late-night conversations, and moments you know you'll never forget. From the chaos of Freshers' Week, opening our doors just after moving in to meet our corridor and staircase; navigating matriculation in unfamiliar gowns; and awkward introductions during speed-friending; to the rituals that quickly became tradition, Fitz has a way of making everything feel like an adventure worth having. FitzUp nights reminded us that after long library sessions and the essays that wouldn't write themselves, there was always something to look forward to. The buttery theme nights became their own institution, the kind of evening that starts as a casual plan and somehow turns into our most memorable meal of the year.
It has always been a privilege to tell others that you belong to Fitz, the friendliest College, the College on the hill. Fitz has long been known as a sporting powerhouse, with Billy Day celebrations marking
each victory we achieved. That, amongst other traditions like our marriage formal, exemplifies why Fitz has always felt like home.
The simple memories we made here will always stay with us. Walking around College in the spring, seeing the gardeners’ hard work come to life as the grounds brightened; "studying" in the plethora of rooms in Olisa; saving seats for our friends in the café booths to work, have drinks, and listen to live music; and watching our peers filter into the bar and the JCR after a formal, in those gowns once so foreign but now familiar.
As a cohort, we are lively, intelligent, and talented; we will thrive wherever we go, while looking back at our time at Fitz with fondness and sending our best wishes to the many year groups to come.
