Clare Hall
Clare Hall offers a College experience that is undoubtedly unique. As we’ve both discovered during our time here, its individuality stems from the special environment and opportunities it offers its students. Our small size and the people within our College create a genuine sense of community, belonging and warmth, truly making it feel like home.
Our positions on the Graduate Student Body allowed us to witness the growth of the 2026 cohort: from dozing off during Rishul’s induction presentation to the incredible energy they have brought on a day-to-day basis. It has been an electric year with plenty of events, shared joy and many celebrated achievements.
The year kicked off with a jam-packed Welcome Week, bookended by a visit from Red Bull and their DJ truck, much to the amusement of our Herschel Road neighbours. From the outset, this cohort embraced the Clare Hall spirit as a whole - even creating a sportive hand sign which would have gone down a treat if done the correct way round…
In true Cambridge spirit, we hosted a record number of formal swaps and themed events, including collaborations with the ‘other’ Clare to celebrate our Colleges’ respective anniversaries. Celebrating our cultural diversity was at the forefront of our activities; we hosted events for Diwali, Christmas, Iftar, Holi and Easter alongside a Multicultural Potluck with the University’s Ghanaian Society. A recurring event on this year’s social calendar has been the Clare Hall ceilidh – we had three in total with a line dance in the mix, too. While perhaps one too many, the dances were thoroughly enjoyed and made many memories.
Last but certainly not least, we’d like to encourage our graduates to please still get involved, stay in touch and remember that Clare Hall’s doors will always be open to you!
